A: For this question, you’ll get the typical lawyer answer - it depends. If your divorce is not contested and both parties agree on all terms, then your divorce could be finalized as soon as 6 months after your divorce paperwork is filed with the court. Unfortunately, regardless of how your divorce is prepared or who your attorney is, no married couple will be divorced prior to California’s required 6-month waiting/ “cooling off” period.
